Welcome to Orange Blossom Photography
Hi there! I'm Libby Zanders and I love that my job gives me a window into varied relationships, both through the people I meet and through the lens of the camera.
Early in high school I was inspired by the preciousness of my family’s photo albums and began shooting on my father’s 1980 Canon AE-1 35mm camera. Heavily influenced by fashion and rock and roll photography, I started documenting my sweet and willing friends of the DIY music community during our travels and adventures, and spent hours in the darkroom developing.
I went on to earn my B.A. in photography at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), where I also experimented with film and printmaking. After years of practice, in 2014 I took the plunge with Orange Blossom Photography, named for one of my favorite Johnny Cash LPs Orange Blossom Special.
I am exploring Southern Mississippi through early April 2019. Normally, however, I love to live in my hometown of Kansas City with my beagle named Boss. I feel very lucky to be a part of its thriving creative community! I have a blast with my two nephews and two nieces, and I’m a record collector/nerd and musician. I love to be on the road in my pickup truck with friends, or solo on my 2001 Harley Davidson Sportster.
I have a passion for capturing relationships and I especially love working with families and sweethearts to capture a special day, or moment. I also have a knack for bringing out the personality in your corporate shots. I look forward to creating some images with you.
